About Us


The Society for Green Business is an organization in the Robert H. Smith School of Business and is a member of the Smith Undergraduate Student Association (SUSA)Our mission is to help students learn and understand  the benefits and opportunities of "going green."  This includes methods in which businesses become more energy efficient and general ways to incorporate sustainability into daily life. The Society for Green Business is a great place to meet corporations, entrepreneurs, and students through our many professional events, private speakers and social mixers!





A committed member of the Society of Green Business will:


  • Learn how to create a "green resume" and impress potential employers.

  • Meet successful entrepreneurs who have started their own sustainability business

  • Learn about and meet representatives from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)

  • Be able to Join a Committee based on their interests

  • Interact and meet with established corporations, such as, International Business Machines (IBM), General Electric (GE), Hewlett Packard (HP) and T-Boone Pickens

  • Participate in tree-plantings through the Casey Tree Organization 

  • Have the opportunity to hold important leadership positions

  • Make new friends through social mixers, concerts, and barbeques!
